The best place to check what we’re observing next

Each update is practical and low-pressure—arrive, look up, and learn with neighbors who enjoy the night sky.

Before you come

Quick answers for first-time visitors so your meetup night feels simple, calm, and welcoming.

Do I need astronomy experience to join?
Not at all. Beginners are encouraged, and members explain what you are seeing in plain language as the sky changes through the evening.
What should I bring to a meetup?
Bring warm layers, water, and optional binoculars. A red-light flashlight and a small notebook are helpful for preserving night vision and taking quick sky notes.
What happens if the weather is cloudy?
We post a same-day weather decision and often shift to a shorter discussion session when skies do not clear. Always check the update before traveling.
Can I look through a telescope if I do not own one?
Yes. Club members set up shared telescopes and guide viewing turns, so first-time visitors can observe right away without bringing equipment.
How are meetup updates shared?
Updates are posted on the Meetups page first, then echoed in club messages. Check that page on meetup day for timing, location, and weather notes.
